Hello. I was hoping to present the first of a unit of four posts about the recently concluded term of the Supreme Court at this time. Instead: aren't these Yorkies cute?
Due to the fact that SCOTUS has taken such a bloody long time finishing up -- and, indeed, such a long time in getting around to one of the cases for which this term may become known in the history books, the matter of discovery (and Congressional inquiry into) a President's tax returns -- I'm holding back on offering you that unit.
As I write these words, Wednesday morning, the court has just issued two decisions (one of which I will be discussing, though only briefly, in the unit as planned). It has also announced that tomorrow, Thursday, will be the final day for decisions. So it will have to do something about the tax disclosure case tomorrow.
That "something" will likely be big news tomorrow, as you read this, even if you are inclined to read my blog entries on day of posting. And I hadn't planned to comment on the taxes case until the third post of the unit anyway, on Saturday. So ... why not offer you the beginning of the series now?
Call me superstitious, but I think of the whole unit of these SCOTUS reviews each year as just that, a UNIT. I want to have it all in front of me before I put even the first post of it in front of you.
Thus: you'll get an unusual Monday posting next week. I'll post part one of the SCOTUS unit tomorrow, which pushes part three to Sunday (and that WILL presumably include some observation on the tax disclosure case), and the wrap up to Monday.
Today, then, let's enjoy three photos of cute dogs. One is above us. Here's another adorable fellow:
and here's a bunch.
See you tomorrow!
