I was going to try to say something profound today about DeepSeek, the PRC's entry into the race for AI dominance. "Who can create a global HAL out of large language models?"
The news about DeepSeek arrived on Monday, January 27 -- one week after President Trump's inauguration, six days after the Trump-led hoopla over "StarGate," a US initiative on this very subject that I discussed here earlier this week.
Instead of actually saying my say about any of this, though, I will simply post some links that will allow you to catch up on the story if you care to.
