TradeTech Europe

At one point I was hoping to get to the TradeTech Europe conference this year.

I attended one a couple of years ago, in London.

The TradeTech Europe conference 2014 was in a different location: Paris, France.

I obtained a new passport early this year with this specifically in mind, and had visions of having the trip paid for by some website eager for my reports from the scene.

Unfortunately, website editors can see right through me, and they surely understood I wasn;t going to spend the whole two day period in the conference rooms diligently taking notes, if I was in Paris on their dime.

I did get a few observations along the lines of, "we know of a great upcoming conference you could cover for us in Bayonne, New Jersey though." .

John Searle has become the object of accusations of improper conduct. These accusations even have some people in the world of academic philosophy saying that instructors in that world should try to avoid teaching Searle's views. That is an odd contention, and has given rise to heated exchanges in certain corners of the blogosphere.
